For text, boolean search capability includes AND, OR, AND NOT, Same Sentence, Same Paragraph, and Phrase.

For fielded data, boolean search capability includes AND, OR, AND NOT, and phrase as well as GREATER THAN, LESS THAN, and EQUAL for numeric and date fields.

Concept Searching allows you to retrieve documents based on concepts. For example, a search for "GPS" would also automatically retrieve documents containing the phrase "Global Positioning System"

Fuzzy Searching lets the user find documents, even if the words being searched are misspelled due to optical character recognition (OCR) errors.

For example, a document containing the phrase "United States of America" could be found even though "United" might have been OCR'ed as "United, Unlted, Vnited, or Vnlted", and "America" might have been OCR'ed as "Amerlca".

Searchable data fields, such as "Author" and "Date", including range searching of numeric and date fields, allow precise searching of fielded data.

Word rooting allows you to find past, present, future, plural and possessive forms of words. For example, RUN, RUNNING, RUNNER are equivalent search words.

Wildcard searching is allowed, although it is often not needed if word rooting is used.

Text encryption.

Within a given full-text database, each document or record can have a different set of fields, fields are variable length, and records are variable length.

Document-level security.

Maximum size of one database - 64 terabytes.

Maximum records per database - 4 billion

Maximum unique fields per record - 255, which can be any combination of alphanumeric, numeric and date fields.

Maximum unique XML fields per record - 32,000. The fields can be alphanumeric, numeric, or date fields.

Maximum total fields per record - 32,000 - You can repeat fields within a record.
